Crockpot Shredded Chicken

Ingredients 

  • 3 lbs chicken breasts 
  • 1 cup chicken broth 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp pepper 
  • 1 tsp garlic powder 
  • 1 tsp onion powder 

Directions 

  1. Place chicken breasts in crockpot. Pour chicken broth and seasonings over chicken. 
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. 
  3. Remove chicken from crockpot and shred with hand mixer. 
  4. Use the chicken right away or allow chicken to cool and divide into zip-top bags and freeze for up to 2 months. 

I opt for organic chicken and organic chicken broth. 

 

Notes 

Shredded chicken is great in soups, salads, and other recipes. Prep ahead of time so you always have healthy lunch and dinner options. 

Cooked chicken is good in the refrigerator for 4-5 days, and in the freezer for up to 2 months. Store in a well-sealed bag or container.
